Are you struggling to overcome anxiety or depression?
Are you noticing that you could use help to make sense of parenting?
Could your child use some support to overcome difficult feelings or behaviors?
Are you dealing with the feelings left behind from trauma?
Would you like expert guidance to improve your marriage or relationship?
I believe we all need and want to feel connected to other people. Our relationships can bring us the greatest joy and yet can serve as our greatest sources of pain.
I come alongside you to identify patterns, perceptions and communication that impact your relationships, and can affect your mind, body, and spirit.
Working together, we will activate your own strengths, equip you with practical tools for coping, and release those burdens that may prevent you from trusting, connecting and expressing your emotions in a constructive way.
Whether you come to see me as an individual, a couple, or are bringing your child in for counseling, we will enter into a partnership to help you untangle the things that trip up the incredible journey of your life.
I draw from many theories and use a wide variety of tools to help you accomplish your goals. You decided which tools work best for you, your child, your family, or your relationship.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, having demonstrated the core competencies for the treatment of trauma, PTSD, grief, and loss. I also have experience and training in treating childhood anxiety.
As a Gottman Level 2 Couples Counselor, I have training and experience counseling people in intimate relationships who are not connecting with one another or who are struggling with communication or conflict. Then Gottman method enables me to quickly pinpoint areas where the relationship is healthy, as well as the areas for improvement. Together, you and your partner will learn, and practice, tools to reinforce your strengths and overcome your challenges.
Licensed by the State of Oregon in 2009, I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling from George Fox University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Montana. Prior to licensure, I spent much of my career working with children and families in school settings.
I also offer BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) mental health support.
