Janet Medina, LMFT

Independent Contractor Therapist

Whether you are at an impasse or looking to heal from old wounds, I would like to partner with you to foster a supportive relationship that encourages healing and meaningful growth. I want to create a holding space where you can unpack your past, explore your narrative, and engage in healthier thought patterns to help you work towards a fuller and more meaningful life.

I have 10+ years of working with individuals, families, and children in the community mental health field. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, Individual CBT, Managing and Adaptive Models, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. I am dedicated to creating a rich and intimate relationship with my clients by showing up genuinely in the space with them. I believe that therapy needs to be a collaborative process and would like to empower you to shape it into whatever best meets your needs. Together we can explore your relational patterns, attachment style, and uncover how your upbringing shaped your worldview. I utilize mindfulness and visualization exercises to promote feelings of empowerment, break from unhelpful negative inner chatter. There is no room for shame or judgment in the space we hold together.

As someone who is bicultural, I like to approach my clients with cultural humility and strive to understand your own unique experience.
