Amber Marinoff, LMFT
Independent Contractor Therapist
The past few years have been fast moving, bringing many unexpected life changes for most of us. You may feel isolated, like no one understands what you’ve been through and/or are currently going through. You may worry about your future and as though you’re not doing enough with your life or you may feel “stuck”. You may even fear that “nothing will get better”.
But you are not alone. It’s challenging being a human being right now. And I, as a fellow human, completely understand this.
My name is Amber N. Marinoff (she/her) and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). As a LMFT, I have been trained in family systems. Consequently, I view individuals’ struggles as part of a larger whole. I love working with individual adults, and you may find that my ability to offer unconditional positive regard to all my clients, helps to establish the trust that is vital to healing. People would say that I’m an empathic and compassionate advocate who believes if trauma can be passed through generations, so can healing.
I love assisting people with remembering who they really are through reconnection to true self through increasing and connecting back to the present moments of life. What relief you feel when you feel increased calm and clarity about your beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
You may feel hesitant to get support.
A lot of people may feel ashamed or embarrassed, thinking that everyone else is doing better with this “life thing” than they are. You may fear that you’re doomed to never achieve your personal and life goals, when on those tough days, nothing seems to go right! It can be so confusing, as life seems to hurdle one challenge after the next at you. You may have already tried therapy once or a few times, and were disappointed by your experience.
It may be easier than you think, getting positive support and encouragement.
You’ll find that you quickly feel at ease as we get to work, and create more peace, calm, and clarity within yourself.
In our sessions together, you will start to feel empowered when you realize that you have always had the power within yourself to make positive changes.
You’ll learn how to identify negative belief systems originating from childhood cultural conditioning, other peoples’ opinions, and the resulting inaccurate conclusions that our child selves internalized.
You’ll be relieved when you begin to remember that your thoughts are not you, and you are not your thoughts.

My Experience
My 18 years of experience helps me understand how to work with hundreds of different patterns and challenges. We will use methods that work for YOU, not a cookie cutter approach to therapy. My training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TFCBT (Trauma Focused Behavioral Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) will give you research based tools that really work. I have very strong social justice beliefs for BIPOC and LGBTQI both personally and professionally. I am a work in progress while I simultaneously identify the cultural conditioning and resulting privileges I have and continue to have as a Caucasian female, while advocating and working toward making sure that everyone regardless of culture, color, gender, or sexual orientation experiences equality, dignity, and respect in all areas of their lives. Black Lives Matter, and Love is Love.
How long does therapy take?
Everyone is different and as a result each therapy experience is unique. It is impossible to give any sort of timeline for the therapy process.
People that I have worked with, report that they have:
Increased their ability to stay present and as a result, increased their emotional regulation, calm, clarity, and self-acceptance.
They report decreased anxiety/panic/depression that was impairing their overall functioning within their lives.
Increased ability to set healthy, appropriate boundaries within their interpersonal relationships resulting in helping them feel increased safety and confidence about themselves.
Feeling “unstuck” about life, and confident about their choices.
Resources I love to share:
Mindfulness based authors: Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Ram Dass, Jack Kornfield, Pema Chodron.
Current movies, television shows, and novels that highlight important, relatable stories about client experiences.
Links to articles and information that are applicable to client experiences and situations.

“Do not resist your pain. Surrender to the grief, despair, fear, loneliness, or whatever form the suffering takes. Witness it without labeling it mentally. Allow it to be there. Embrace it. then see how the miracle of surrender transmutes deep suffering into deep peace.”
— Eckhart Tolle
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
